For the second straight season, the El Dorado Aztecs are the District 1-5A, Division 1 champions.
The Aztecs led from start to finish in defeating Americas, 68-47, at the SAC 1 on Thursday night. The Aztecs are 8-1 overall and 5-0 in district and defeated the Trailblazers for the second time this season. In the first meeting, El Dorado won, 28-20.
Americas falls to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in district.
El Dorado led 41-19 halftime behind five touchdown runs from senior running back Ryan Estrada. Estrada also threw a TD pass to receiver JaDarius Sanders. Estrada added a second half touchdown run.
Quarterback Brycen Booth added two rushing scores and a touchdown pass for El Dorado.
Next week, the regular season comes to an end for both teams. El Dorado visits Parkland on Thursday, Nov. 6 and
