Coastal Carolina capitalized on five Marshall turnovers in the second half and came back from 10 points down to prevail, 44-27, in a key Sun Belt Conference game Thursday night in front of 17,034 fans at Brooks Stadium.
Quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson found De’Andre Tamarez for a 7-yard score to give the Thundering Herd a 27-17 lead with 12:46 left in the third period. After that, the nightmares began. The Herd would turn the ball over five times and the Chanticleers would charge back for 27 straight points and their third straight win. Coastal (5-3, 4-1 Sun Belt) is 3-0 all-time against Marshall at home.
