East Kilbride Thistle boss Stephen Kane has praised his flu-stricken squad for catching Carluke cold and leapfrogging them at the top of the West of Scotland Fourth Division. 
The Jags took the lead early on through Jordan Grant before their hosts pulled level through Gary Stewart in 70 minutes. 
But Thistle – who had several players struggling after a flu bug tore through the Showpark squad last week – rallied to find a late winner through Jonny Branks and that 2-1 win took them a point clear of Rovers, who have a game in hand. 
Kane said: “We had a flu bug going through the squad and four or five of the boys couldn’t train during the week, so that makes it even better to get through the game with a win.
