SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio — The Sheffield Lake Police Department says two people have been charged following an investigation into possible prostitution and human trafficking at a spa.

According to a press release posted by the department on Facebook, officers launched an investigation in mid-September after receiving an anonymous tip about alleged illicit activity at D Foot Spa, located at 4648 Lake Road.

Police say information gathered during the investigation indicated that prostitution may have been taking place at the business. With help from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force (HEAL), investigators conducted an undercover operation that led to probable cause for a search warrant.
