GRAND FORKS — UND wide receiver Kristen Hoskins can't wait to hit on a big play.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound explosive playmaker transferred to Grand Forks from the University of Minnesota after a standout prep career at Alexandria (Minn.).

Hoskins has been carving out an offensive role in recent weeks for the No. 8 Fighting Hawks but a long touchdown has been just out of reach.

"It's been hard for me not to feel that thing I've been missing and that's the explosive play," Hoskins said earlier this week at practice. "But for me, the team winning and shining and smiling is everything for me."

The typical adjustments to a new program have been even more challenging this season for Hoskins, whose mother Kenyatta Hardy died a couple of months ago.
