BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Jambalaya, friends, coworkers, and old friends. That is what the 35th annual ExxonMobil Baton Rouge United Way Jambalaya Cook-Off is all about!
52 different teams will compete in a Jambalaya cook-off for more than 3,000 ExxonMobil employees, retirees, and friends. The first and second place teams will participate in next year’s CAUW downtown Jambalaya Jam.
This year’s goal is $1.1 million raised, after exceeding last year’s goal of $850,000.
Each team is tasked with cooking roughly 30 pounds of meat and 15 pounds of rice. With 52 pots combined, that’s more than 1,500 pounds of meat and over 1,500 cups of rice being cooked.
This cook-off is one of the many ways ExxonMobil Baton Rouge supports United Way.
