FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Franklin Police Department has launched a new program aiming to protect vulnerable individuals throughout the city.

FPD launched Home Safe Franklin, which is a voluntary registry to “bring loved ones home safely.”

How it works:

Families/caregivers provide essential information about individuals living with conditions such as loved ones who live with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, Down syndrome, or other cognitive or developmental challenges

That information is stored in a confidential database accessible to law enforcement

It ensures officers have the tools to respond quickly and compassionately during a crisis
