The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the Congress kept quiet about two deadly attacks on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel orchestrated by the Muslim League in 1939. The incidents had been buried to avoid confronting uncomfortable truths, according to BJP sources.

Drawing attention to the events on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, and coincidentally, the 41st death anniversary of Indira Gandhi, the BJP stated that 34 out of 57 accused were convicted, with two receiving death sentences.
