Last week at Owyhee High School in Meridian, the Cutthroats, the No. 4 seed, registered a 3-2 victory in the first round over the Teton Timberwolves on Oct. 23. The win advanced the Cutthroats to the semifinal round, where the Coeur d’Alene Panthers earned a 2-0 victory over SVCS on Oct. 24. On Saturday, SVCS fell to Wendell 2-0 in the third-place contest.
“We just lacked a few goals up front when we needed them,” Whitelaw said.
Coeur d’Alene defeated McCall-Donnelly 1-0 in the final to win the 4A crown.
