SALT LAKE CITY — Weber State University President Brad Mortensen announced in an email to the school’s student body on Thursday that he was stepping down from his position to take on a position as president of Utah State University.
“Serving the Weber State family has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and it’s with deep gratitude that I share this update,” Mortensen said. “While I was not looking to leave Weber State, I was presented with an opportunity to serve the state in a new way and continue advocating for higher education across Utah.”
Mortensen said he would be taking on his new position on Nov. 7 after working at Weber State as its president for nearly seven years.
