BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Halloween is finally here, the time to put on the costume and go out trick-or-treating; however, different towns have different hours to do so.

In the Bismarck and Minot areas, that window is generally between 5 to 8 p.m. In the capital area, there's also a 10:30 p.m. curfew in effect for those 15 and under.

Over in Dickinson, the general rule is that trick-or-treating begins at 6 p.m. and usually wraps up around 8.

Farther north in the Williston area, the kids have between 5 to 9 p.m. to gather as much candy as they can.

Keep in mind that these hours are not official, but rather traditional times.

Remember to only knock on the door with the porch light on and take every precaution possible to stay safe and warm.
