Burger fans queue outside Wendy's new restaurant in Nottingham
More than 50 burger fans queued up in eagerness for Wendy's to open its doors in Nottingham city centre . The U.S. chain's expansion across the UK includes the new site in Upper Parliament Street.
Everyone in the queue when the doors opened at 10.30am was rewarded with a free Wendy's Single burger.
But first in line was David King, who received loaded fries, nuggets and one of the iconic Frosty desserts too.
The 66-year-old, of Thorneywood, who had been waiting patiently since 7.45am, said: "I love fast food places. I've never had Wendy's before. It's the best I've ever had. Bye bye McDonald's, hello Wendy's. I'll be a regular."
Opening at the former home of Nottingham Building Society, it makes it a fast food triangle
