Despite a scare from Ridgewater in the semis, the nation’s top-ranked CLC volleyball team claimed the state title and improved its record to 31-1. The Raiders swept Itasca in the finals. CLC is already in the region tournament field and will play to move to the nationals. Stach, Fleischhacker and Almsted made the all-tournament team.

30 years ago (1995)

Jason Wing spends almost every spare minute bowling. The 16-year-old’s dedication paid off when he rolled a perfect 300 game on Oct. 21 junior league play at Paul Bunyan Bowl. He’s the first Brainerd/Baxter junior to turn the feat. Paul Bunyan owner Mike McFarland witnessed the feat.
