BRENTWOOD, N.H. —

New Hampshire Director of Ports and Harbors Geno Marconi is expected to plead guilty to a criminal charge and as part of a plea agreement, resign from his position, court documents show.

A document filed Thursday shows that Marconi plans to plead guilty to a violation of the Driver Privacy Act, a misdemeanor.

"That implies that maybe the prosecution didn't have as much confidence in their evidence as maybe one might have presumed initially, but it's hard to know," said Daniel Pi, University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law professor.
