Highway 401 express lanes in part of Mississauga have reopened after being temporarily closed following a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer early Friday, police say.

The collision was caused by a small passenger vehicle that hit an "end treatment" where collector lanes are divided from express lanes, Ontario Provincial Police Const. Kerry Schmidt said in a video on social media. The vehicle was redirected into the express lanes, where it hit a tractor-trailer, which lost control and smashed into a concrete median, he said.
