FISHERS, Ind. — Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate-Junior High moved to an eLearning Day Friday after seeing a higher-than-usual number of student absences due to illness.
School officials say this is the only HSE school making the switch, and the decision was made out of an abundance of caution.
As part of standard health and safety protocols, HSE often transitions to eLearning when absences reach around 20 percent.
The Fishers Health Department was on-site Thursday afternoon to offer support, and custodial crews are conducting enhanced cleaning throughout the building today and into the weekend.
While the district says it can’t pinpoint a single cause for the spike in illness, they’re continuing to monitor the situation.
