MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) - A man was arrested after police said the threatened a child in Meriden.

They identified the suspect as 38-year-old Jeffrey Alverado.

Police said their Special Crimes and Crime Suppression Unit began looking into the case in July.

An arrest warrant was obtained.

Alverado was charged with first-degree threatening and risk of injury to a child.

He was held on a $150,000 court-set bond.

No other details about the investigation were released.
