MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A Tennessee man pled guilty to charges of attempted murder on October 31 in the Circuit Court of Mason County after being arrested earlier this year, according to the Mason County Prosecuting Attorney.

Kenneth L. Connell, 46 of Brush Creek, TN, was arrested in April of this year after “allegedly bludgeoning a man with a hammer in Leon, West Virginia,” according to the Mason County Prosecuting Attorney.

The Mason County Prosecuting Attorney says that Connell will return to court on Dec. 4, 2025, where he will await the court’s decision on his plea.

If the court accepts his plea, Connell will face a minimum sentence of three years or a maximum sentence of 15 years.
