BOROUGHWIDE — CATHOLIC CHARITIES BROOKLYN AND QUEENS HAS LAUNCHED AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE for people affected by the government shutdown to help anyone in need access food, mental health support and case management. These services are available for those impacted by the government furlough, especially the loss of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits on Nov. 1. 60 pantry locations in Brooklyn and Queens are open to anyone affected with no appointment needed.

Caseworkers and benefit coordinators will help families access emergency funds. Emergency grants are available for assistance on a case-by-case basis.
