Brooks Raley had a 2024 season to forget. The veteran lefty performed well in eight games for the Mets that season, not allowing a single earned run in seven innings, but an elbow injury forced him to undergo Tommy John surgery, ending his season in late May. He was a free agent after the season, and as a soon-to-be 37 year old reliever with an elbow surgery under his belt, went unsigned through the entirety of the offseason and into the beginning of the 2025 campaign.
