Before this season, the team to beat in Section V football Class D seemed easy to see.

And then York/Pavilion entered the picture.

York/Pavilion (7-1) defeated every Section V team on its regular-season schedule, including defending sectional champion Avon, 41-21 on Oct. 17. The only team to beat York/Pavilion was Barker/Royalton-Hartland from Section VI.
