A woman has died after collapsing in a high street.

Emergency services were called to the main road in Tunbridge Wells on Wednesday (October 29).

At around 9.30am, two fire engines, two ambulances and three police cars were spotted at the scene.

Officers had taped off part of the road between Freeman Forman Estate Agents and The White Company.

A witness told KentOnline that a woman, who appeared to be in her 60s, had slipped whilst walking along Christ Church Avenue.

The private road stems off from the High Street and leads through to Grove Park.

“I saw her fall over and hit her head on a brick wall,” she said.

“I was with her until the ambulance arrived, but she couldn’t be saved. There were lots of leaves on the ground and the tiles were very slippery.”
