PIERRE, S.D. – Libraries across South Dakota will celebrate the joy of reading this November as the South Dakota State Library launches Storytime South Dakota, a statewide initiative promoting early literacy and family engagement.
Participating libraries will host special storytime events featuring the 2024-25 Prairie Bud award-winning book Lou: A Children’s Picture Book About a Fire Hydrant and Unlikely Neighborhood Hero by Breanna Carzoo, a playful and empowering picture book that encourages children to discover their self-worth. Each event will highlight the value of reading aloud and the role of libraries in supporting young readers.
