A 13-year-old Baker girl who reported missing last week was found alive Thursday in Pittsburgh and a suspect has been arrested, the U.S. Marshals Service and Baker Police Chief Carl Dunn said Friday.
The girl was found in the basement of a home in Pittsburgh Thursday, with the assistance of the FBI, Pittsburgh Police Department, and Allegheny County Juvenile Probation Office. The girl was found with an adult male and a woman from the Washington, D.C. area. Medical personnel determined she had been sexually assaulted, the marshals service said.
Investigators determined that the girl had travelled on a bus from Columbus, Georgia to Pittsburgh. At the time of her disappearance, the girl had been seen at the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge.
