The city is gearing up for the New York City Marathon on Sunday when more than 50,000 runners will race through all five boroughs — and with each runner comes a story.
One nonprofit dedicated to helping others seek treatment for substance use or mental health disorders is among the groups participating.
Sunday marks the fifth year The Release Recovery Foundation is taking part in the marathon, with a team of more than 115 runners.
Together, the team has already raised more than $650,000, with a goal of more than $850,000 to fund over 70 treatment scholarships.
Zac Clark, founder of the Release Recovery Foundation, joined "News All Day" to talk about his advocacy for recovery and mental health.
