Portage la Prairie RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) spent the month of October tracking down several wanted individuals, including one who was arrested after police deployed tear gas into a residence.
On October 8, police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed an entry warrant at a residence on Fisher Avenue to arrest 47-year-old Aaron Penman.
RCMP safely removed five children and three adults from the home, but Penman refused demands to exit. Police ultimately deployed tear gas inside the residence before entering and placing him under arrest.
Penman remains in custody and is facing new charges including resisting arrest, failing to comply with a release order, and disobeying a court order.
