SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Vermont's Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport has announced that they have reached a "record-breaking" streak of outbound passengers.
Airport officials say that this streak spanned about 18 days, from October 5 to October 22. More than 3,000 passengers were reportedly screened each day, and over 58,000 people were accounted for in total.
In an officials release, Leahy BTV officials note that the streak was "remarkable" because it "occurred during a federal government shutdown, when the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) continues its critical operations with dedicated employees working without pay."
The previous record was six days, which was set in 2004 and achieved for a second time in 2008.
