(KFVS) - As the government shutdown continues and SNAP benefits are at risk of being paused, some Heartland businesses are stepping up to help their communities.

Restaurants throughout the Heartland are offering a pay-it forward program that allows customers to cover costs for those who cannot afford to eat out.
