NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents are among the millions of Americans who are on track to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food aid benefits if the federal government shutdown continues into November.
Many local communities, food banks and meal sites are stepping up their efforts to help feed more people. This list will be updated as more locations are announced.
Connecticut Foodshare
Connecticut Foodshare’s Mobile Pantry provides food at more than 100 locations in a no-questions-asked, outdoor “farmers market” setting.
Anyone who needs food can contact their local pantry either through 211.
