BOISE, Idaho — Two children suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after running into the street while chasing a ball and being struck by a vehicle.

According to the Boise Police Department, the incident happened just after 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 when the kids were playing with a small ball that got away from them. The children ran into the roadway, pursuing the ball, and were hit by the front passenger side of a vehicle's bumper.

The driver stopped at the scene immediately following the collision, police said.

Both kids were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The department said the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
