Syracuse, N.Y. — Section III’s best girls volleyball teams are gearing up for some big showdowns with their seasons on the line next week.

That’s when the semifinals of the sectionals unfold. Some contenders will be taking the court for the first time since the end of their regular seasons. Others will be moving forward after surviving first-round tests.
