WINNESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa - One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in northeast Iowa.
The State Patrol says it happened around 2:05 pm at the intersection of Highway 52 and Town Line Road. The crash report states a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by Melvin B. Rausch, 91 of Fort Atkinson, was heading south on Highway 52 when a 2001 Mack semi driven by Rodney D. Freidhof, 62 of Cresco, failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
The State Patrol says the truck pulled into the intersection and was smashed on the driver's side by the minivan.
The crashed injured Melvin Rausch and killed his passenger, Mary Rausch, 87 of Fort Atkinson. Freidhof was not hurt.
