What do a hobo, a gypsy, a football player, a ghost and a princess have in common?

They are just a few of the Halloween costumes I remember from my childhood. And most often, we would make those costumes with whatever we could find around our house.

When I was gypsy, I wore this super colorful robe/nightdress/mumu thing of my mom's, along with a lot of gaudy necklaces and bracelets. I would wear lots of eyeshadow, mostly in a frosty light blue, and of course, I would wear my mom’s bright orangish-reddish lipstick.
