The annual Hospice Face to Face fundraising campaign brought in $103,692 this year to support patient transportation.

That brings the total raised through the campaign over the last 23 years to more than $1.8 million.

“Over $100,000 again is overwhelming — so grateful,” said campaign founder John Fairley during an event at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County’s Windsor location on Wednesday.

“This is a campaign built by the people,” he said. “It sounds awkward to say, but it’s you asking your friend — and people look forward to this thing. They come up with ideas, and there are businesses that are involved.”
