New evidence of glitches in the clunky bus and tram MyWay+ payment system indicate some passengers have been travelling for free for many months - and so depriving ACT tax payers of revenue.

Passengers said they hadn't been debited for trips made and for which they had touched on and off. Online chats referred to the "Chris Steel golden ticket" after the bruised transport minister in charge of the troubled roll-out of the new system.

One Belconnen resident told The Canberra Times she put $30 on her card a year ago when she bought it in the Westfield shopping centre, but that money had never run out despite daily travel.

She called it her "lucky card". She felt she had been "blessed by the bus gods".
