A rescue K-9 is responsible for locating a lost hunter in Sharkey County and bringing him back to safety.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ K-9 officer Baylee Jones and officer Christopher Dean received a call from Yazoo County dispatch regarding a lost hunter along the Sunflower Wildlife Management Area in Sharkey County.

Upon arrival at the area, the officers were provided with the unidentified hunter’s last known location. That’s where K-9 Dempsey went to work. The furry friend was deployed for an area search, and within just 15 minutes, the pup successfully located the missing hunter.

The hunter was found in stable condition and safely escorted back to his vehicle, officials report.
