AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is evaluating its next steps after a Superior Court Judge upheld an arbitrator's decision regarding school counselor Delinda Dykes.

A Superior Court judge has upheld the reinstatement of Dykes, the school counselor at the middle school, accused of discriminating against LGBTQIA+ students.

A Title IX investigation was launched in 2023, and Dykes was terminated. She appealed the firing, which was reinstated in July after an arbitrator found the District had wrongfully terminated her.

The district appealed the order to reinstate Dykes, and the school placed her on paid leave just before the school year started in August. But a judge this week upheld the arbitrator's decision.
