AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) - Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people on Thursday after finding multiple controlled substances and weapons during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Hamilton County.
A trooper saw a Saturn SUV failing to maintain its lane on eastbound I-80 near Aurora, at mile marker 332, at 2 p.m. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Troopers searched the vehicle and located approximately 15 pounds of suspected marijuana, 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine, two handguns, and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Alfred Stewart, 68, of North Highlands, California, was arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.
