BANGOR — According to a 2025 Gallup poll, 54 percent of Americans say they want to abolish daylight saving time altogether.

Mainers we spoke with had a mix of opinions on the matter.

“I actually like it the same time all year round,” said Donna Lyford.

“I mean, you miss out on the sun, but at least you get the hour of sleep so you kinda catch up on some rest, so I don’t see the problem there,” said Jamerson Allmen.

“You know, it seems like the time change is unnecessary,” said Longrie Christiansen.
