GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WILX) - The FBI in Detroit released a one-month follow-up report on the investigation into the deadly attack of a Grand Blanc church.
On Sept. 28, 2025, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township was the site of a deadly shooting and fire.
In total, five people (including the gunman) were killed and nine were injured, the FBI says.

In the report, the FBI stated that the assailant, identified as 40-year-old Thomas Sanford of Burton, was motivated by anti-Mormon beliefs.
