The Gov. Maura Healey aide arrested in Springfield and charged with trafficking pounds of cocaine has been deemed a danger to the community and is being held without the right to bail.

Lamar Cook, 45, of Springfield, was arrested while driving his car on Tuesday evening and charged with trafficking 200 grams or more of cocaine, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The charges stem from the seizure of nearly eight kilograms, or about 18 pounds, of suspected cocaine earlier this week. A police report estimates the street value at roughly $110,500.
