PHOENIX — With the future of federal food benefits still in limbo, charitable organizations around Arizona are anticipating a spike in demand for resources.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego held a press briefing Friday as thousands of Arizonans are about to potentially lose access to their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Representatives from several local charitable organizations were in attendance and urged Valley residents to consider donating items or volunteering to help families experiencing food insecurity.
