Local lawyer and former president of the Clarke County Board of Education Ed Tolley announced his candidacy for the Athens-Clarke County Commission District 7 seat last Monday.

Tolley said in a press release that his campaign will focus on “solutions-driven representation” for the district that covers the Timothy Road and Beechwood Hills neighborhoods. His website cites concerns for the neighborhood’s traffic safety, along with intent to support community policing, first responders, and sustainable growth of affordable housing and infrastructure improvements in the area.
