SEATTLE — Brace yourself for rough seas ahead.
Washington State Ferries (WSF) issued an alert Friday morning, warning riders to be prepared for possible service disruptions through Saturday afternoon due to high winds.
The high winds are a part of a significant atmospheric river that hits western Washington Friday evening, bringing not only strong winds, but heavy rain and snow in the mountains.
Delays and cancellations are likely.
The more northern routes are expected to see the biggest potential effects from the weather. In an alert posted to its website, WSF singled out the route between Anacortes and the San Juan Islands, and the Port Townsend and Coupeville route.
