GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Leaders from the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the City of Grand Island will be celebrating the completion of the Highway 30 Grand Island West project.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday.
The $47.8 million project, which began construction in April 2024, expands US-30 to a four-lane expressway west of Grand Island.
The improvement enhances traffic safety, reduces congestion and increases mobility for residents, commuters and freight traffic traveling through the region.
The newly constructed expressway is scheduled to open to traffic on Wednesday.
As part of the project, North Road and Stolley Park Road were realigned to intersect the new US-30 perpendicularly, improving connectivity and traffic flow.
