AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)- Law enforcement agencies on both sides of the river are talking about their safety plan for Halloween.

It’s one of the busiest Fridays of the year for Augusta.

That’s why the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says they’re increasing their presence this weekend to ensure community safety.

“We want to give people a sense of safety, let them know that we are there, and be able to stop something before it happens," said Captain Omar Rouse.

With several trunk or treat events, trick or treating in neighborhoods, and high school football games, Richmond County deputies are planning to patrol areas in areas across the county.
