ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Fairburn City Council has impeached and removed a now former councilmember accused of “unauthorized distribution of confidential information,” the city said.

Samantha Hudson was accused of sharing a confidential cease-and-desist letter online, according to her website. Hudson claimed the “‘complaint’ was emailed to the entire Council on August 6. Every member had it. That receipt is in my attorney’s hands.”

The city said “Both the Mayor and City Attorney had explicitly instructed all council members in writing that personnel matters must be discussed only in closed executive sessions. The release of this confidential material violated specific provisions of the Fairburn City Charter and City Code of Ordinances.”
