GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Halloween on a Friday means law enforcement officials are preparing for larger crowds in downtown Greenville and in neighborhoods as trick-or-treaters try to snag as much candy as they can.

The Greenville Police Department will increase its presence downtown through Saturday night as people put on costumes and hit the streets for Halloween activities.

“If you’re gonna go downtown. Or somewhere taking part in Halloween festivities, I always say go with a group, stay with your group of friends,” Captain Justin Wooten of the Greenville Police Department told WITN. “I would suggest you have a plan of how you’re going to get there and how you’re going to get back.
