WARREN COUNTY, Iowa —
A candidate for the Des Moines Area Community College Board of Directors has been arrested and charged with extortion in connection to the upcoming election.
Wade Robinson, DMACC's former dean of Student Resources and Ankeny Student Success, was arrested Thursday by the Warren County Sheriff and later released on bond.
The controversy stems from an email Robinson sent to DMACC in August, alleging he was the subject of a Title IX violation and demanding a $1 million settlement along with a non-disclosure agreement. According to court documents, Robinson followed up on Aug. 20, stating his intention to run for the District 4 seat on the DMACC Board of Directors.
