Only a few faces showed up to speak on city issues at an Oregon candidates forum.
Mayor Mike Seferian, seeking a fifth term, and incumbent councilmen Terrence Reeves and Dennis Walendzak, appeared at Thursday’s forum and answered a variety of questions by moderator Richard Johnson, president of the board of directors at the Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce, which sponsored the event.
Councilman Steven Salander, who is running against Mr. Seferian; Councilman Paul R. Drake III, who is seeking re-election to a second term; and council candidates Marvin Dabish, Thomas Lambrecht, and Paul J. Gibbs, Sr., did not attend.
Mr. Johnson said he did not cancel the forum because it wouldn’t have been fair to the candidates who showed up.
